The Position

This position is for an Anaplan Solutions Architect & Model Builder to join our growing Finance team and play a meaningful role in crafting next-generation planning process through Anaplan. The goal for our team is to make our user experience in Anaplan easier and more insightful so our finance leadership can plan more effectively and maximize performance. This full-time position will be responsible for requirements building, designing, developing, testing, implementing and maintenance of Anaplan models. As a key member of the Anaplan team you will create new functionality, resolve system issues as they arise and support and train users.

The ideal candidate is a team player who has a deep understanding of data modeling, enjoys solving complex business problems, and possesses strong analytical skills. To be successful in this role the candidate must be able to communicate effectively across cross-functional teams, explain complex concepts to various stakeholders, bring business insights, and drive process improvements in the platform. Attention to detail paired with mindfulness of the big picture is also essential for success.

Relationships

This individual will report to the Director, GTN Forecasting.

Daily, the individual in this position will interact with stakeholders across the Finance organization with frequent interaction at the manager, senior manager and director level. Moreover, the job regularly interacts with the volume and GTN forecasting, Digital Finance, IT and data management teams, among others. From an external perspective the individual will likely interact with vendors in the digital and/or GTN space, e.g. analytics or developing consultants.

The position does not have any direct reports and will not manage any contingent workers.

Essential Functions

  • Responsibilities for this role include, but not limited to:

  • Build and evaluate business requirements and consult with stakeholders to ensure model design reflects business needs

  • Maintain, develop, design and deploy functionality and solutions in Anaplan

  • Configure and maintain Anaplan lists, modules, pages, actions, and other model settings to meet business needs

  • Develop new functionality to support new business objectives

  • Drive scale by standardizing and improving methodologies across our model landscape, maintenance processes, and ensure clear documentation of these methodologies

  • Maintain and create user security roles and permissions for Anaplan users

  • Partner with IT to configure, test and correct data integrations between internal systems and Anaplan

  • Partners with Data Management teams to test and configure current and new data feeds into Anaplan

  • Partner with cross-functional teams to understand existing Excel models and translate them into efficiently built, dynamic, connected Anaplan models where information can be shared across the organization

  • Create and maintain UI dashboards that deliver key organizational insights to end-users

  • Perform ad-hoc reporting and analysis as needed

  • Understand Anaplan’s new and/or updated functionality and how it will affect or can be used in our current Models

  • Act as a subject matter expert (SME) for Anaplan to the organization as well as championing best practices in Anaplan model building and lifecycle management

    Physical Requirements

    0-10% overnight travel required.

    Qualifications

  • Education Level: Minimum bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, Information systems or other relevant subjects

  • Experience Level: Minimum 6-8 years, where master’s degree would be considered in lieu of experience

  • Specific or technical job skills:

  • Required

  • 2-4 years of experience with Anaplan or working as a model builder in Anaplan

  • Prior experience in agile implementation (requirements gathering, design, build/testing and deployment), process automation and/or technology implementation

  • Data analysis skills and experience working with large data sets

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Powerpoint, etc)

  • Excellent communicator with ability to explain complex concepts simply to various stakeholders

  • Eager and willing to learn new systems and tools where any necessary training or certifications would be provided

  • Strong problem-solving skills, business acumen and analytical ability

  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment

  • Ability to drive results independently and work collaboratively with cross-functional teams

  • Experience using technology to develop multi-dimensional models

  • Desired

  • Hands on experiences in Python, R, SQL or other software development

  • Technical understanding of finance processes

  • Ability to translate 2D spreadsheet model into multi-dimensional technologies

  • L1, L2, Anaplan Way, L3 certifications
